Indian agri Commodity Markets continue volatile trend

Agri markets continued to trade with high volatility as markets continued to trade weak. With prices having fallen a lot over last few weeks, further down trend was limited though. 

Moderate firmness was noted for Guar, Spices and Chana after the initial fall. There are expectations of trading activities slowly picking up in coming weeks. Oil complex too traded with high volatility as CPO firmed up on bullish news in the International markets.

Mentha oil falls by 0.8% on subdued demand

Mentha oil fell 0.78% to Rs 879.70 per kg in futures trade today after speculators cut down their bets, triggered by subdued demand in spot markets.

Besides, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts also put pressure on mentha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange market, mentha oil for delivery in February eased by Rs 7 or 0.78% to Rs 879.70 per kg in a business turnover of 79 lots.

In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in January contracts shed Rs 6.80 or 0.77% to Rs 867 per kg in 402 lots.

Cardamom up by 0.6% on rising spot demand

Cardamom prices today rose by Rs 5.20 or 0.64% to Rs 811 per kg in futures market after speculators enlarged their positions supported by good buying in the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February rose by Rs 5.20 or 0.64% to Rs 811 per kg in a business turnover of 107 lots.

In a similar fashion, spice for delivery in far-month March gained Rs 4.10 or 0.50% to Rs 811.90 per kg in 3 lots.
